Jennifer Lawrence does a wonderful job as Katniss but Phillip Seymour Hoffman adds a necessary element to it all.


The corny lines that poor Peeta Mellark was made to utter.

Reviewer's Thoughts

Though it started off at a slow simmer that made me fear that it would be as disappointing as the first movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire quickly picked up into a violent boil that woke me up at full attention.

Jennifer Lawrence owns her role as Katniss Everdeen and with a supporting cast of heavy weights such as Woody Harrelson and the always amazing Phillip Seymour Hoffman you can’t help but cheer her on during the games. The special effects were top notch, the story was compelling, and unlike the original movie we finally get the sense of dread that is the 12 districts.
