Game of Thrones Recap 1.6 – The True Dragon Rises

Editor’s Note: We’re doing a different format with this recap since the series has gotten a lot more accessible with the advent of HBO Go and numerous re-runs. I will be recapping the events based solely on my opinion through review so look for the remainder of these to be a lot shorter than the initial set. With that being said, I appreciate your taking the time to read my thoughts on this wonderful series and feel free to express your opinion in the section below.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is a quick little bastard isn’t he? And although he is son of a nasty family, you can’t help but get on the Imp’s team because he is one of the only normal people in the entire series. His use of wit over brawn with the well timed “A Lannister always pays his debts” gets him out of his dangerous cell and into the court of the crazed lady Lysa Arryn (Kate Dickie). Championed by the mysterious Bronn (Jerome Flynn) we are treated to some real experienced, dirty swordplay versus a knight’s honor. Of course the knight loses and falls hundreds of feet to his death after Bronn runs him through and clears Tyrion of his accused crime.

The blood flowed easily this episode as we witness King Baratheon (Mark Addy) finally slap the taste out of his bitch of a wife’s mouth (I don’t condone hitting women but ugh, if any woman needed it Cersei damn sure did). Bitch-ass Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is on the run after Ned Stark (Sean Bean) is reinstated as Hand by his hot-headed friend The King and finally, thank god, that asshole Viserys Targaryen (Harry Lloyd) got his proper dues.  It was BRUTAL, I would not wish Viserys’s fate on my worst enemy – big Kahl Drogo (Jason Momoa) picks up a vat of molten gold and pours it over his head – nuff said. Am I nuts for thinking Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was absolutely hot as she ate that horse’s heart in that odd ritual, while trying not to hurl? Baby is so drunk on Drogo’s wine that you would think that she was born of his race… what a great wife for the Kahl!

It looks like there will be rain come next episode folks, all the Chess pieces are in place for some real chaos and I cannot wait to get into it. If you haven’t been watching this series fix that!
