Miami Vice

Okay, take an old tv show’s title, throw in some of the same flavor of partnered cops versus the world and then just make it extra gritty and dirty for the realism. Mix in a hot Asian woman, a hot black woman, and a dead-eye femme fatale plus some cut-throat drug runners, then sprinkle with some Aryan nation trailer trash. Once you have the formula, iron it out with a great plot and storyline, tie everything in a’la 80’s movie style and let it dry.

The result: One kick ass movie! Movie of the year for me, and there are some great ones coming out but what a way to lead it off. Head shots, shady cops, fast cars, lots of sex and machismo x100 is what you get in this movie. The plot had me at the edge of my seat as you see the two cops get deep into the dark drug ring and struggle to end it cleanly at the end. I will not delve into any part of the script, you need to go see it hands down.

Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell never smile the entire movie, it is almost funny, Colin looks like he smells sh-t the entire time and Jamie just seems pissed off. I guess being a Miami NARC is hell, because these boys were not having fun. The highlight of Miami Vice however was the action, this isn’t your cheesey DMX action flick though so don’t expect them to blaze guns for 90% of the movie. It is a well thought out undercover operation that lays on a thread until all hell breaks loose and people start getting shot in the head… alot.

I don’t like giving perfect 10s but rarely do I leave a movie as happy and excited as I was leaving this one, it may have had flaws but the good things were too much for me to think about them. Awesome movie.
