Nurse Jackie Recap 2.9 – P.O. Box

I find it interesting that Jackie (Edie Falco) spends the episode judging other people because of their secrets when she has the biggest two of all – her addiction, and her affair with Eddie (Paul Schulze).

Arguing with Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) about money (or lack thereof) on one hand, and not being able to afford the private school for Fiona (Mackenzie Aladjem) on the other hand is giving her more stress. More secrets develop as she goes against her promise to Kevin and accepts the money from Dr. O’hara (Eve Best) for the girls to stay in the private school. We learn that she has a private PO Box and a separate bank account which she uses to purchase her prescriptions and spends more than $600 a month on them.  The way she looks at the statement, it is clear that she is disturbed by the amount that she spent in one month at various pharmacies.

Zoey (Merritt Wever) and Lenny (Lenny Jacobsen) are cute with their budding relationship. She was a victim of Coop’s (Peter Facinelli) issue of grabbing a nearby breast when under pressure and Lenny mistook it for pure disrespect. He defended her honor but sent Coop to the ER with a broken nose in
the process.

HighLights (those moments that make the show so great)

  • Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith) loses it with the Pill-O-Matix. She is seriously considering hiring Eddie back. Jackie tries to talk her out of it, but from the looks of the previews, she doesn’t listen.
  • Coop’s face as he gets heated with Jackie while they discuss domestic violence initiated by a woman.
  • Grace (Ruby Jerins) spends time alone in bathrooms pulling out her hair and she refuses to discuss anything with Jackie.
  • Jackie throws new nurse Sam (Arjun Gupta) under the bus in what appears to be either an attempt to get him fired, or a passive aggressive hate move simply because he is 6 months sober.
