007 – The James Bond Files
James Bond 007 is the fictional creation of writer Ian Fleming (who wrote about him in 12 novels and 2 short stories). The films created about the super spy has developed a cult following over the years and the distinguished honor of playing James Bond has been a coveted role of fans and actors alike. Almost like a royal dynasty, the actor who plays Bond is normally written differently than his predecessors. For this reason you will find a few Bond fans who dislike a particular dynasty and love another. The original Bond actor was none other than Sean Connery and the most recent is actor Daniel Craig.
As a hardcore Bond fan and supporter (I’ll watch any of them anytime). I will review all 22+ films and house them here. Unlike my standard movie reviews, I will not judge James Bond on the merit of acting, story, cinematography, score and direction. It cannot be that cut and dry, since Bond is in a world of it’s own, my standard 5 category reviews will still stand but this will occupy only one of five much larger Bond judgements along with a bonus category that can help or harm the overall score. With that being said, I introduce to you the Bond-o-meter score system, which will judge his movies based on the actor/story, the Bond girl, the villain, the toys, MI6 (M, Q, Moneypenny bonus) and then my standard rating system.
With this I hope to get more people into the James Bond spirit and to differentiate the garbage from the gems. IT is an ongoing franchise and I look forward to judging them all.
